Advanced Character Animation Creation Guide

Advanced character animation is a text rendering feature achieved by SDK so as to animate text characters when you design your text effect with After Effects, which can empower you to design complex and attractive character animations.

• Supported character and paragraph parameters

  If you edit text layer, all characters in the layer will be changed simultaneously.

• Supported character animation attributes

  The attributes in the following image are supported at present, and you can blend multiple animations together, excepting the stroke width.

• Supported range selector

  Only the range selectors and some advanced parameters are supported, and you can blend multiple selectors together at present.

• Exporting settings

  The character animation is an advanced feature and it is compatible with the text rendering method in the old version. We have turned off the animations, but if you want to use it, you can turn on it manually, following the path: File -> Settings -> Basic Settings, and check Advanced Character Animation, otherwise you can not export the text animation data.

• Note that:

  • When you enable the advanced character animation, the character sizes vary depending on the different fonts. If line text is enabled, lines of text cannot be broken, but text boxes can. In a word, its features are consistent with the features in After Effects, of which limitations in the old version are removed.

  • The SDK with core version 2.0 or above is required when enabling the advanced character animation, and new APIs are required if you are going to modify the text contents and some attributes. The functions that do no be listed are the default values in After Effects. The unsupported features are the default values of After Effects.

• About license

  No license of advanced character creation is required if you just draw plain text or do not need any character animation tool. It is recommended to enable advanced character animation in version 2.0 to get more accurate text drawing support and more simple interfaces for clients when editing text. But if you want to make animation effects more vivid to attract others with character animation tool in After Effects, the Advanced Character Animation License must be needed in SDK rendering in order to catch the animation features.
