VE Cleaner Installation

Attention! VE Cleaner is an After Effects extension and it only support After Effects CC 2015 and above

1. Install ZXPinstaller

ZXPinstaller is a software that can be used to install After Effects extensions. Before install VE Cleaner, we need to install ZXPinstaller first.
You can download ZXPinstaller from belove.

After installing ZXPinstaller, run it.

2. Install VE Cleaner

First, download VECleaner.zip

Unzip VECleaner.zip and drag the VECleaner.zxp file to ZXPinstaller and wait for it to finish installing.

3. Copy Resource Files

There\'s a folder in the zip archive named VETemplateCleanerResources. It contains all the resource files that VE Cleaner needs. You need to copy VETemplateCleanerResources folder to the ScriptUI Panels folder of your After Effects directory.
For example, if you are using After Effects CC 2018. On Windows, the ScriptUI Panels folder usually locate at C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Adobe After Effects CC 2018\\Support Files\\Scripts\\ScriptUI Panels\\. On maxOS, the path usually is /Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2018/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/

Attention!, If you have multiply version of After Effects installed and you wish to use VE Cleaner in all of them, you need to copy VETemplateCleanerResources folder to each one\'s ScriptUI Panels folder

4. Set script access permission

Open After Effects.
For After Effects CC 2018 or older version, Goto "Preference > General" and check "Allow scripts to write files and access network"
For After Effects CC 2019 or newer, Goto "Preference > Scripting & expressions" and check "Allow scripts to write files and access network"

5. Run VE Cleaner
